Privacy Policy — ProBay

Summary

ProBay ("the extension") has no backend server. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data with the developer or any third party. Everything it does happens locally, inside your own browser, and only when you actively click its icon or a button inside its panel.

What the extension does

When you click the extension's toolbar icon on a supported page, it:

On eBay or Temu:

  1. Reads the product listings visible on that page (titles, prices, ratings, sold/review counts, seller information, images, etc.).
  2. For some listings, makes additional requests directly from your browser to that same website (e.g., a product's own page, or its public sale-history page) to gather more detail — using your browser's existing session with that site, the same as if you'd visited those pages yourself.
  3. Displays the results in an on-page panel.

On the Airmerce seller workspace:

  1. Reads the text currently on your clipboard, only when you click the "Paste All Attributes" button.
  2. Fills matching form fields on that page with that clipboard text.
  3. Does not read, store, or transmit any other content from that page.

None of this data is sent to the developer or to any server the developer operates — the extension has no backend, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

What gets stored, and where

  • Scan results, your saved/starred items, and named "saved result sets" are stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data stays on your own device, inside your own browser profile. It is never transmitted anywhere.
  • You can delete all of this at any time using the extension's own "Delete data" button, or by removing the extension.

Clipboard and outbound links

Some buttons copy text or an image to your clipboard (e.g., "Copy" on a Temu product), read your clipboard to fill in form fields (Airmerce's "Paste All Attributes"), or open another website in a new tab (such as eBay's listing-creation page or eBay search). These actions only happen when you click that specific button — nothing is copied, read, or opened automatically.

Permissions

The extension requests browser permissions that let it read the page you're on and make requests to that same site only when you ask it to — for example, updating an eBay search page's results-per-page setting before scanning, or saving your scan results to your own device so they persist between sessions. No permission is used to collect data for the developer or any third party.

Third-party sites

This extension reads publicly-viewable data from eBay and Temu pages you visit, reads/fills form fields on your own Airmerce seller workspace, and (for one optional eBay feature) fetches your own eBay account's data from eBay's Seller Hub research tool using your existing login session. Your use of those sites remains subject to their own privacy policies and terms of service — this extension is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by eBay Inc., Temu/PDD Holdings, or Airmerce.

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, since it does not collect information at all.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
